1. After the chain is loaded into the conveyor, it is loose without being tensioned and cannot work normally. The conveyor can only operate normally if it gets a certain pre tensioning force.
2. Usually, the tail wheel of the conveyor is a passive wheel, which rotates by the friction with the chain. Only through the tensioning device can enough friction force be generated between the traction component and the tail wheel to drive the tail wheel to rotate, which is particularly important for the smooth wheel surface and the tail wheel with groove smooth wheel surface.
3. The chain pitch will gradually increase due to wear, and the chain will gradually elongate. The tensioning device can compensate for the resulting elongation, and maintain the normal working state of the traction component.
4. When the traction component is properly tensioned, the suspension can be reduced and the friction with the shell can be reduced. It is also conducive to the engagement and disengagement of the chain and the head wheel.
5. The tensioning device with certain automatic tensioning effect can automatically adjust the small elongation or shortening of the traction component caused by the tension change randomly, and can play the role of load sharing.
6. The tensioning device is necessary for installation and disassembly. The traction component is loaded into the conveyor without tension. After loading, the tensioning device can be used to check whether the chain length is appropriate and whether it needs to be increased or decreased; When disassembling the traction components, the tensioning device shall be completely loosened, otherwise, the disassembly work will be difficult.
