The chain tension of scraper conveyor directly affects the service life of scraper and chain. Excessive tension will increase the abrasion degree of scraper and chain, while too small tension will easily lead to chain stacking accident. The traditional chain tensioning mode of scraper conveyor is manual tensioning mode. No matter the load size, the predetermined tension value is adopted in this mode, and the tension cannot change with the load change, which often leads to the failure of the scraper and chain to operate normally, and the scraper and chain breaking accidents occur. For this reason, some units often adopt a dynamic tension control system for the chain of scraper conveyor, which can control the expansion and contraction of the tension cylinder on the tail frame of the scraper conveyor according to the changes in the load and working conditions of the scraper conveyor, so as to dynamically adjust the tension value of the chain and make the scraper conveyor run smoothly.
The chain dynamic tension control system of scraper conveyor has obvious advantages compared with the traditional manual tensioning system, but there are also some shortcomings. First of all, the whole control system must be stable and reliable during use. If any component such as PCU, sensor and various control cables fails, the scraper conveyor will not operate normally. Secondly, during the operation of the scraper conveyor, the scraper continuously rubs with the load sensor, causing the load sensor to heat up. The heat dissipation effect of the load sensor designed in the initial stage is poor. When the temperature rises, the measurement error of the load sensor is large, and the measured chain tension value is inconsistent with the actual value, which makes the chain tension unable to meet the normal operation of the scraper conveyor, leading to the occurrence of scraper breakage accident.
