China Coal Group Hosts 'Traditional Culture + AI' Event Featuring Digital Host And In-House AI Agent

On the morning of September 30, Shandong China Coal Group held a special event themed "Celebrating the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC: Traditional Culture Comes to China Coal" at its conference center. An AI digital host took part throughout the event, bringing intelligent technology into every segment and combining cultural heritage with technological innovation. More than 600 leaders, industry guests, executives and employees attended in person, while 500 digital employees participated throughout. Together, they celebrated the motherland’s 77th anniversary and looked ahead to a new chapter in the Group’s development.

Shandong China Coal Group Chairman Qu Qing; General Manager Han Yong; Li Zhenbo, General Manager of Group Informatization and General Manager of Zhongyun Group; Party Committee Secretary Guan Chenghui; Xu Zhihan, Deputy General Manager of the Group and Director of the Tendering and Procurement Center; and Zhang Xing, Deputy General Manager of the Group and General Manager of Cross-Border E-Commerce, attended the event together with all officials and employees.

With the AI digital host delivering a smooth and dignified opening presentation on the large screen, the event officially got underway. The digital human and the host jointly led the opening greetings, the playing and singing of the national anthem, and the introduction of the guests. This integrated virtual-and-real hosting format gave attendees an immediate sense of the Group’s achievements in digital innovation. Everyone stood for the playing and singing of the national anthem, as its stirring melody resonated throughout the venue and evoked a profound sense of patriotism.

The event began with an address by General Manager Han of Shandong China Coal Group. His remarks outlined the Group’s path of serving the country through industrial development. He said that in recent years, the Group has focused on intelligent manufacturing and deeply integrated technologies such as 5G, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence. It has brought the spirit of Chinese craftsmanship into technological innovation and incorporated the traditional values of virtue and respect into the development and refinement of AI products, while building a workforce with both cultural awareness and digital skills. Looking ahead, the Group will continue to draw strength from culture, harness AI, and put its aspirations into action. It will weave a commitment to the country into its development, unlock digital productivity, deepen its work in intelligent manufacturing, expand into global markets, and give back to the country and society through tangible achievements.

Li Zhenbo, General Manager of the Group’s Information Technology Division and General Manager of Zhongyun Group, spoke about enterprise digital transformation and the practical application of AI. He introduced the Group’s in-house-developed OPC One-Person Company AI Agent, covering its development background, core technical team, approach to addressing business challenges, results in actual operations, intellectual property and awards, and efforts to extend its capabilities to external organizations.The system uses a cluster of AI agents to assign repetitive, routine tasks to AI digital employees, freeing staff to focus on high-value business decisions. It has been deployed across the full domestic and international trade workflow, with substantial improvements in business performance indicators.The Group is also continuing to expand its support for external organizations and deepen exchanges and cooperation with enterprises, public institutions, and associations in Jining. By sharing its experience in using the Zhongmei AI Agent System to support the real economy, reduce costs, and improve efficiency, the Group aims to help more local businesses in Jining achieve high-quality growth and contribute to the city’s digital transformation.

Chen Xiaoxia, former Party Secretary and President of the Mencius Research Institute at the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, delivered a lecture titled "Confucian Culture and Innovative Enterprise Development." By connecting the wisdom of traditional Confucian culture with modern corporate governance, she offered the guests an engaging exploration of ideas and culture.

Pan Hanjiu, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Jining Municipal People’s Congress, delivered concluding remarks. He spoke highly of Shandong China Coal Group’s innovative "traditional culture + AI" development model and praised the group for its commitment to industry and its willingness to embrace digital transformation. He expressed hope that the company would continue using AI to drive its transformation and upgrading, and harness digital technology to strengthen both its cultural soft power and technological capabilities.

Throughout the leadership speech segment, the AI digital human repeatedly made live calls to employees’ family members, conveying warm holiday greetings for the two festivals. Bridging the distance between places, it conveyed the company’s care to employees’ families, using digital technology to deliver warmth and demonstrating technology for good and technology with a human touch.

Following the leaders’ speeches, a performance celebrating China’s revolutionary heritage brought the atmosphere to a peak. Songs including "My Motherland and I," "Serve the Country with Utmost Loyalty," and "I Love You, China" paid heartfelt tribute to the nation. The dance "Boundless Land" evoked its landscapes and people, while excerpts from the classic Peking operas "Shajiabang," "Hongyungang," and "The Red Detachment of Women" took turns on stage, captivating the audience. Traditional performances and AI digital technology complemented each other, bringing fresh vitality to traditional arts in the digital age. Applause rippled through the audience. At the close of the event, all participants gathered for a group photo, capturing a memorable moment where culture and technology came together.
